Privacy policy

The Building Materials Group ("BMG", "we") operates this members portal for its membership community in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how we handle it, in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

Application and profile data: name, work email, phone, company, role, business sector, and anything you add to your profile.

Membership documents: documents you choose to upload (for example Emirates ID, passport, or trade licence copies). These are stored in private storage, are accessible only to you and BMG administrators, and are never public.

Activity data: event registrations and attendance, messages you exchange with other members, posts on the jobs and RFQ board, and sign-in records.

To run the membership: reviewing applications, managing renewals, organising events, generating membership documents, sending transactional email (sign-in codes, confirmations, reminders), and keeping the community safe through moderation.

We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

You control your directory visibility: you can hide your profile from the member directory and choose whether your email or phone are shown to other members. You can block and report other members in messaging.

Hosting and database infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase), transactional email (Brevo), spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and, for some public events, ticketing by Eventbrite under its own privacy terms.

We keep membership records while your membership is active. To have your account and documents deleted, contact the BMG admin team; legal or accounting records may need to be retained where required.
